New Delhi: It has been raining heavily in Delhi for the last several hours. During this time, a building collapsed in Sabzi Mandi area. It is being told that a house collapsed due to heavy rain. A person buried under the debris has been rescued and admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital.

Five fire engines on the spot

According to the information, a house near Ghanta Ghar Robin Cinema in Sabzi Madi area collapsed at around 9 o’clock. On receiving the information, the fire department has sent five vehicles. Due to traffic jam in the area, the vehicles were slightly delayed in reaching the spot.

Waterlogging at many places due to heavy rain in Delhi

Let us tell you that more than 100 mm of rain was recorded in Delhi in an hour on Wednesday, after which many areas were waterlogged. Due to this, the Meteorological Office had to issue a ‘Red Alert’. The red alert calls for caution. Due to heavy rains, many areas including Lutyens Delhi, Kashmiri Gate and Rajendra Nagar were submerged. In the visuals received from the Qutub Minar area of ​​​​South Delhi, vehicles were seen passing through waterlogged roads, while traffic policemen were trying to control the movement of vehicles.

At the same time, 119.0 mm of rain was recorded at Salwan station in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm today, while 118.5 mm of rain was recorded at NCMRWF station located in Noida Sector 62.

IMD made this appeal

IMD said that light to moderate rain is expected in Delhi during the next two hours. Apart from this, winds are also expected to blow at a speed of 50 kmph during this period. IMD has advised people to stay indoors, keep windows and doors closed and avoid unnecessary travel.
